Jackie was first diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2000 during a routine check-up. Despite having no noticeable symptoms, her GP identified hypertension and prescribed Lisinopril 20 mg and Bendroflumethiazide 5 mg daily. While this treatment kept her blood pressure stable, Jackie continued to struggle with her weight—an ongoing challenge she had faced for more than two decades.
In 2021, a routine blood test revealed Type 2 diabetes, and Ozempic 1 mg weekly was added to her treatment plan. By 2023, Jackie was advised that all three medications were likely to be lifelong in order to protect her long-term health.
Over time, her weight challenges began to affect her confidence and daily life. Jackie developed an unhealthy relationship with food and with the scales, cycling through countless diets and exercise plans without achieving sustainable change. At her lowest points, even simple tasks—such as running a bath—felt overwhelming, and the idea of jogging around the block seemed completely out of reach.

Diagnosis and Early Challenges
Beginning the iWellness Journey
Everything changed when Jackie began her iWellness journey in 2023. Through a structured, evidence-based programme, she received personalised guidance across nutrition, movement, sleep, and emotional wellbeing.
Her support network included:
• Weekly one-to-one coaching sessions and regular check-in reviews
• Monthly biometric assessments, including VO₂ max testing
• “Ask Me Anything” educational sessions to deepen understanding and engagement
These sessions helped Jackie develop a deeper understanding of her own body and key wellness concepts such as stability, strength, balance, metabolic health, and VO₂ max—a recognised predictor of long-term health and longevity.
Although her blood pressure readings remained broadly similar, a major breakthrough emerged: Jackie was able to maintain stable blood pressure on less than half the medication she previously required, while steadily losing weight and significantly improving her overall biometric profile.

Current Wellbeing and Outlook
Today, Jackie feels healthier than she has in decades. She has completed her first 10K run, and her VO₂ max now sits comfortably above the average for her age group. Her HbA1c has improved dramatically over the past twelve months, and her blood pressure medication has been significantly reduced.
More importantly, Jackie has regained freedom of movement, confidence, and joy in everyday life. Her long-term goal is full remission of both Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Based on her current trajectory and continually improving health indicators, this objective is well within reach. Jackie continues to lose weight, build strength, and rediscover what it truly feels like to thrive. And her journey is far from over.
